Freemium

Freemium is a portmanteau created by combining the words "free" and "premium." When a product or service is freemium, it means that its basic functions are free of charge, but users may pay to unlock additional features.

For example, many mobile apps can be downloaded for free from an app store, but offer microtransactions and in-app billing to unlock additional capabilities or content.
