Fresnel zone

Fresnel zone

The Fresnel zone is a three-dimensional, concentric, ellipse that defines the pattern of radiation in optics, radio transmissions, and other radiation of waves from an origin. Named after the physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel, these zones calculate optimal signal transmission between two objects where obstructions are present.
