Released in 2014, Gitter is a cross platform messaging application marketed towards programmers. Using the service, users can network with other developers, start discussions in group chats, and collaborate on projects. In addition to standard group messaging features, Gitter includes integration with several popular development platforms, including GitHub and Heroku.
The Gitter app is available to download and use for free on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
