Released on February 5, 2009, Google Latitude was a mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones that allowed users to share their current location with friends and family members of their choosing. The app used location services to periodically update the whereabouts of a device for other users to see on a map.
On August 9, 2013, Google Latitude was discontinued, and its features were integrated into existing Google services, like Google+ and Google Maps.
