Google Nexus
Google Nexus was a brand of Android smartphones released in 2010. Its software was developed by Google, and its hardware was manufactured by HTC, Samsung, Huawei, Motorola, and LG. Unlike most Android phones from third-party manufacturers, the Google Nexus ran a "stock" version of the operating system. Stock Android phones receive software updates as soon as Google releases them and don't have any of the manufacturer's "skins" on top of the base OS (operating system).
The final Nexus phone, the Nexus 6P, was released in 2015 and support from Google for the Nexus 6P ended in November 2018. The successor to the Nexus, the Google Pixel, was released the following year. For a short time after the release of the Pixel phone, Nexus 6P owners could trade in their device for a new Google Pixel.
