Graffiti
Graffiti may refer to any of the following:
1. Graffiti is a type of writing used on Palm OS (operating system) devices that allows users to write into their PalmPilot. It is also licensed by Apple for their Newton. The picture shows the Graffiti writing scheme.
As seen in the picture, to create a letter "a," start at the bottom left, and draw an "A" without the horizontal line. To input multiple characters, the user must memorize and draw each letter they wanted to enter. The bottom of the chart shows how space, backspace, carriage return, and period could also be created.
At the time of its invention, Graffiti was a revolutionary method of inputting text. Graffiti devices were dramatically lighter than the laptops of the time. Today, Graffiti is no longer used. Anyone that grew up with a smartphone or another touch screen device may find it impossible to imagine writing out each character they want to type.
2. Graffiti describes vandalism where a person paints messages or pictures on public structures and defaces that structure. When used in technology, green graffiti, light graffiti, or projection bombing describes graffiti projected onto a public structure using a projector or lasers. Using this form of graffiti allows an artist to display an image or message without destroying any property.
