Hacktivism is a portmanteau of the words "hack" and "activism." It describes instances of hacking performed to support or contribute to a political or other agenda. Hacktivists can achieve their goals by digitally vandalizing a website with a message, removing content that doesn't align with their views, or through harmful cyber attacks like DDoS.
