Home tab
A home tab may refer to any of the following:
1. In general, the home tab is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) element or button in an application or web page that returns you to original options or a landing page.
2. With Microsoft Office, the Home tab is the default software tab found in Microsoft Word (shown right), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other products. It contains options that a typical user is most likely going to want to use.
The Home tab changes based on the Office program. While Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint include many of the same or similar features found in Word, they also have unique options. For example, in both Word and Excel, you'll see options for changing the font size and font style, but only Excel's Home tab has adjustment options for adding, moving, and deleting cells.
