HP printer history
Hewlett-Packard got into the plotter and printing business after acquiring FL Moseley Company in 1958, which helped start the company's printer Moseley division. HP's first dot matrix printer was the HP 9866A, introduced in 1972. The HP 2680A was the first laser printer introduced by HP in 1980. The printer was for office use and cost about $100,000. The company later released the HP LaserJet in May 1984, the first desktop laser printer for $3,500.
Today, HP printers are used by millions of computer users, with their inkjet printers being a popular choice for home and business use.
