Ifshelp.sys

Ifshlp.sys is the 32-bit installable file system manager. The services provided by this driver assist in trapping real mode file system and network-related APIs.

Ifshlp.sys syntax

The following line must be put into the config.sys file.

DEVICE=C:\Windows\IFSHLP.SYS

Ifshlp.sys errors

When booting up the computer, you get the following error.

ERROR 3649: To load NetBEUI, the NDISHLP.SYS driver must be listed          in the [Network Drivers] section of the SYSTEM.INI file.

Ensure first that you are loading the IFSHLP in your config.sys file. If the file is being loaded in the config.sys, make sure the system.ini has NDISHLP.SYS listed in the Transport= line in the [Network Drives] section.
