I just recently returned from vacation from Europe where I took my Lenovo Thinkpad 430. It was working just fine the entire time I was gone where I used a smart phone as a Wi-Fi Access Point to connect to the Internet. Got back home and the thing doesn't even SEE my home Wi-Fi. I can see Wi-Fi connections from my neighbors and other household devices on the list of available networks but my home Wi-Fi does not appear. Tried resetting my home Wi-Fi to no effect. I also used the Windows troubleshooter, and even though it says I am not connected to a network, the first network it shows to attempt to connect to is a smart light bulb with NO internet connectivity.

Hit on Windows Button + R to Open the Run Box and copy and paste this command line and hit enter for Network Diagnostics :
msdt.exe -skip TRUE -path %Windir%\diagnostics\system\networking -ep NetworkDiagnosticsPNI

(How) did you solve the problem? Was it through the Network Diagnostics in the previous suggestion? I'm sorry I can't help, but since I myself encounter all kinds of issues, I would really appreciate it if you shared the solution.

"An error occurred. This troubleshooter could not be launched."

Are you able to verify that your home Wifi is present at all via another device? eg. Does your phone see it?
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

Yes. My home Wi-Fi works. There is no problem with any other device like my phone, Roku Player, Nintendo Switch, and smart light bulbs.

Well, it  could be   the endows PC has a hardware failure.   ???
Do you have another network adapter you can use on your PC?

LightUpMyLife

Should I try getting a deeper look at hardware or should I simply just purchase an external Wifi adapter?
