JavaRa

Old versions of Java have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to infect your system.

QuoteUse

What JavaRa does is to check if your computer has the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If the version you have installed has been superseded by a newer version the program will download and install this newer version for you, by running Java's update program. JavaRa then allows you to remove all possible older versions of this program.

This will ensure that the security of your computer is enhanced and extra space on your hard disk is created.

Cleaning feature

In some instances Java Runtime Environment (JRE) will create logs or temporary files which are not needed in normal circumstances. These files take up space and can be safely removed. JavaRa does this tedious job for you with one click of a button.

Simply select the "Remove Useless Files" button once in a while to remove these old useless files.

Windows Versions Supported

The newest release of JavaRa supports Windows 9x, 2K, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
The legacy version of JavaRa supports Windows 9x, 2k, XP, and Vista without UAC.

Instructions

1. First Verify your Java Version
2. If there are any other version(s) installed then update now.

Get the new version

If your version is out of date install the newest version of the Sun Java Runtime Environment

Remove any old version

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove programs
2. Uninstall all older versions of Java.
3. Remove any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
* Do not remove the new version just installed.
4. Download JavaRa and unzip the file to your Desktop.
5. Open JavaRA.exe and choose Remove Older Versions
6. Once complete exit JavaRA and delete the program.
7. Run CCleaner.

Additional Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and reboot your computer.
