My friend came over with his laptop today because he could not log into his email account. He said it started when he tried to log a few days ago in a hotel room. He started to receive " this connection is not private" on his laptop and phone. He was using Edge and Google Chrome. I download and installed FireFox and was able to get into his account. I realized something happened to his browsers probably cause by the hotel wifi. I tried resetting Google back to its default but still get the message. Has this ever happened to anyone and how do I get the browsers back to normal again?

Hi Dave
Try flushing the DNS cache as shown here https://support.4it.com.au/article/flush-dns-windows-10/

There may be a cached DNS for the hotel

A common root certificate expired today. Not sure if it's related to the issue.

You could look through the security certificate info to see why the browser has decided the certificate cannot be trusted.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
