Maybe...... ;D
I think it would be very beneficial for future webmasters, if they have easy access to current webmasters with lots of experience.

It's an idea, I'd need to get more community interest though I think before implementing something like this.

Well maybe this can be like the Geek Police Academy, except instead of teaching about removing viruses, current webmasters can teach new and upcoming webmasters.

I would be down for this, I run a couple websites on my own server, so I could give advice for LAMP setups, too.

I know this thread is a bit dated, but I'm totally in support of creating a new webmasters group. Perhaps there is increased support in the community now?

Why?
Who wants to be a webmaster anymore.
Everybody now is on FaceBook.

I enjoy being a webmaster and there is plenty of reasons for webmasters to continue to exist. Facebook is definitely an important factor for a web presence, but that's about it. If you want to make money from a site or sell products you're still going to need a webmaster. As far as a webmaster group, unfortunately I still don't think there is going to be enough interest. Honestly not a ton of interest in a lot of the groups. :/

If there was a webmaster group I would join it. Im still fairly new at making websites but not at setting up intranets.
I seen this post after reading a few things on the forms and desided to join and after reading though here I would say you would atleast have a few and if nothing else if the group fails you can always just make it a place for people to post scripting problems for websites and we can try to help them the best we can with the coding.

Well, the existing Web Design section can address questions regarding issues with web page coding.
