I was helping explain something to someone on the chat, and then Quantos banned me, this has got to stop, he bans everyone.

Well, it looks to me like you were correctly banned (the ones that come on here whining usually deserved it). You gave inaccurate information to a help seeker and then whined when you were called upon it. Help-oriented chat rooms need close and timely moderation if they are not to descend into chaos. (What you called "lighthearted debate".) For that you could try Reddit.

I have talked with Quantos about the ban and future bans.  What really annoys me is your persistence in ban evasion and claiming you could do this all night..
Respecting the ban is the easy way back, evasion may lead to a perma ban. Why you are prepared to jump bans shows me the kind of person you are.
Figure this will be a 2 week ban now that you evaded.  Quantos told me he was releasing the original ban in 24hrs but now its full 2 weeks for evasion.

@Salmon Trout How did I give inaccurate/incorrect information? The BIOS thing that PCPartPicker said, meant that you *may* need to get an old compatible CPU to update it... That's not wrong.

TrivisionZero

@lostcoast I don't care about any ban time, I just kept rejoining because I want to know why I was banned, which was for no reason anyway. As you can see, my last message was helping someone, then he said "Bye"...

Well don't do that then...either way it's ban evasion.

"CX series is built by seasonic, designed by corsair". That is not true, and you could have checked it before typing it.

Sure that was incorrect, but it's no worse than a lot of other incorrect advice given out on a daily basis.

Surely the chat should also serve to educate people who give incorrect advice rather than simply banning them.  A simple explanation of "While some Corsair units are Seasonic built, the CX series are built by CWT" would have sufficed and surely been a lot more appropriate than "No they aren't.  Stop spouting crap or I'll remove you"

TrivisionZero

@Salmon Trout I looked it up later, and it appears *one* discontinued CX model was built by Seasonic. So I wasn't entirely wrong. Yes, I should have checked, but I saw at least two different forum posts saying that Seasonic builds the CX model.

TrivisionZero

And he banned me for the correct BIOS info.

TrivisionZero, seriously, you need to move on from this! Maybe you are aged about 12 and don't yet understand, this is TRIVIAL. You are like someone whining that a nasty big dog growled at you and you want God or your mommy or someone to fix it for you because it was teh badz.

TrivisionZero

@Salmon Trout - Maybe I'm "aged about 12"? Not even close, well kinda, I'm 15 (have you ever seen a 12-year-old with my grammar?). And I don't care if it's trivial or not, I was trying to help. This chat room made me realize I love to try to help people, but nope, not anymore.

BC_Programmer

15 is incredibly close to 12. Salmon Trout was pretty much on the mark.

I have, yes. That isn't very relevant though.

If your experience in the chat room makes you not want to help people despite you loving to do so, then you didn't love to help people. And if you helped people with inaccurate advice you were never really helping them anyway.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

TrivisionZero

@BC_Programmer Like I said, Seasonic built one CX model. So I was partially right.

TrivisionZero

And the not loving it anymore was just a bad (terrible) threat to make someone feel bad (for banning me), which I regret. I just thought that the CX model wan't crap, since I had positive personal experience with it. And then I said something that wasn't exactly correct about it, but it wasn't actually advice to anybody, just a statement to Quantos.

For all it's worth, I'm sorry Quantos.
