Keyword stuffing
Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope
Keyword stuffing was the unethical practice of crafting a website's data to trick a search engine into giving the website a higher rank in a search engine's results. By repeating text in a way that was hidden from a human viewer but visible to a search engine, the website could manipulate the search engine's ranking algorithms.
Keyword stuffing is no longer possible because modern search engines no longer determine a page rank based solely on the frequency of keyword occurrence. In many cases, search engines use an algorithm specifically to detect keyword stuffing and to prevent such techniques from affecting the ranking of that web page.
