Level editor

A level editor is a program that allows users to design environments within a computer game. Level editors may be part of the internal software development process, used only by the game's designers, or they may be made available to everyone (also known as open-source). A level editor often uses multiple windows to allow the level designer to place game assets onto a level map, and configure the behavior of the game environment using scripting techniques.
