Link farming
Updated: 11/13/2018 by Computer Hope
Also known as link spamming, link bombing, or Google bombing, link farming is an automatically generated page on the Internet containing links to similar sites. It is used as a tactic to improve the page's rank in a Google search. One factor of Google's PageRank algorithm is how many pages link to a site. If hundreds of different pages link to a page, Google may move the page higher in its search results.
This technique is forbidden by the policies of most major search engines. If used, the offending site or domain may be heavily penalized in, or removed completely from, a search engine's index.
