Mass storage
Updated: 10/01/2023 by Computer Hope
Also known as bulk storage, mass storage is any location with large quantities of data or a large storage capacity. Because "large" is subjective, especially over the evolution of computers and storage, this term is rarely used today. However, when used, it often describes a location capable of storing more information than what's on a typical computer of today. For example, the picture shows a SAN (storage area network) that's used for backup. In this example, the SAN has several terabyte hard drives.
