Matte

Updated: 12/31/2022 by Computer Hope

With computer displays, a matte surface scatters light to reduce reflection. LCD (liquid-crystal display) screens with a matte surface will reflect only a fraction of the surrounding light, making it easier to view the screen under bright conditions. The drawback is that matte displays may have slightly reduced contrast ratios and vibrancy of color.
