Mbps may refer to any of the following:

1. Mbps or Mb/s is short for megabits per second or millions of bits per second. Mbps is a measurement used to determine the amount of data (megabits) being transmitted per second and is smaller than MBps.

Tip

With units of bits, use a lowercase b. With units of bytes, use the capital B letter.

2. MBps is short for megabytes per second or one million bytes per second. MBps is a measurement used to determine the amount of data being transmitted per second and is larger than Mbps.
