Microsoft Video Editor

Also called Video Editor, the Microsoft Video Editor is a basic video editing program included in Windows 10 and 11. It replaced Windows Movie Maker, which was featured on older versions of Windows.

Video Editor's layout resembles programs like iMovie, which can be considered its macOS equivalent. It features a media browser panel, a preview panel, and a timeline at the bottom. The timeline, called the "Storyboard," lets you sequence, split, trim, rotate, and adjust the speed of video clips. It also lets you add pre-made elements like title cards, Ken Burns animations, color filters, and 3-D objects to your sequence.

How to access Video Editor features

To access the Video Editor features, click the Video Editor tab at the top of the screen in the Windows Photos app. You can also type Video Editor in the Start menu search bar and press Enter.
