Microsoft tag
Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope
Also called a HCCB (High Capacity Color Barcode), a Microsoft tag is a 2D barcode that connects people to information, websites, and interactive experiences in the digital world. For example, the image is a Microsoft tag. If you scanned this tag with a mobile device running the Microsoft tag app, the Computer Hope homepage would open in the device's web browser.
On August 19, 2013, Microsoft announced that on August 19, 2015, Microsoft tags will be discontinued.
