N may refer to any of the following:
1. A lowercase n is the SI-derived symbol of a nano- prefix.
2. N is a keyboard key used with the keyboard shortcuts Alt+N, Command+N, and Ctrl+N.
3. The letter "n" is chat slang for "and" or "in."
4. With an escape sequence and in regular expressions, \n is a new line.
5. With Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet programs, "N" is the fourteenth column of a spreadsheet. To reference the first cell in the column, you'd use "N1."
6. With a sort, N is the number of records processed during the sort.
7. With a measurement, N is short for Newton, the amount of force required to accelerate one-kilogram of mass by one meter per second.
8. In the phonetic alphabet, "N" is often pronounced as "November."
9. N is the fourteenth letter in the English alphabet. The letter "N" comes after "M" and is followed by the letter "O." To create a capitalized "N," press Shift and N at the same time.

In ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange), the uppercase "N" is "078" in decimal (01001110 in binary). The lowercase "n" is "110" in decimal (01101110 in binary).
