Updated: 06/22/2024 by Computer Hope
Abbreviated as NSP, a Name Server Protocol is used with TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) connections. The name server is responsible for taking requests from other computers on a network and providing them with a name-to-number translation known as an IP (Internet Protocol). It answers requests from users to help them get to the computer or information they want.
