Nginx

Nginx is an open-source web and reverse proxy server used with HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol), IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol), POP3, and SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) protocols. First released to the public in 2004 by Igor Sysoev, it focuses on being high performance while maintaining low memory usage. A large number of third-party add-ons are supported unofficially but may not work with all versions. Nginx hosts around 12% of the active websites on the Internet in 2014, which is about 22 million, including Hulu, Netflix, Pinterest, Zappos, and Zynga.
