N+
Updated: 06/21/2017 by Computer Hope
A certification by CompTIA, Network+, or N+, helps demonstrate a person's knowledge in TCP/IP, managing a network, network operating systems, and installing and upgrading networks. It's often recommended that users with little or no network experience complete a Network+ certification before moving onto their MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) or CNE (Certified Novell Engineer) certification.
Note
Up until 2011 the N+ certification was a lifetime certification; the certification now must be renewed every three years. Any certifications done before January 1, 2011, is considered GFL (good-for-life) and do not expire.
