Offset printing

Offset printing is a method of printing commonly used for books, magazines, newspapers, and other high-volume printing jobs. Offset printing requires that the image or text be burned onto a metal plate that is placed around a cylinder. In offset printing, the sections of the metal plate with no text or images are coated with a substance that prevents ink adhering. Large sections of paper are then moved through several rollers, including the roller with the ink-coated metal plate. Each plate may contain all or part of the final printed image.
