Paging

Paging may refer to any of the following:

1. Paging is a DRAM (dynamic random-access memory) memory management method used by computers, allowing data to be saved and obtained from a specified storage space to be used in the main memory. Under this method, data is gathered using blocks of the same size (called pages), which allows noncontiguous use of the physical address space. When accessing memory in the same row, the computer keeps the row address and only changes the column. Paging helps avoid fragmentation, reduces power consumption, allows faster access, and resolves other problems that can be caused when the physical address space is used contiguously. Computer memory using this method is called Page Mode, sometimes abbreviated as FP (fast page) or FPM (fast page mode).

2. Paging is scrolling down one page at a time.
