Polyline
Also sometimes called a polygonal chain, a polyline is multiple connected line segments (created with three or more points) that form a continuous chain. Polylines are used in computer graphics and a GIS (geographic information system) to represent various shapes. Essentially, they are sets of coordinates that, when connected, form a specifically-shaped line with multiple segments.
Polylines are versatile in that they can be open, meaning the first and last points aren't connected, or closed, forming a continuous loop. This flexibility makes them useful for various purposes, from drawing simple lines to outlining intricate polygons. For example, polylines are used in mapping and location-based applications to display roads, rivers, or political boundaries. In design software, like AutoCAD, they are used where precise paths and shapes need to be demonstrated.
