PrefetchW

Updated: 10/02/2017 by Computer Hope
Prefetchw in white lettering on pink background.

Used by AMD processors to improve performance of instructions in 64-bit mode, PrefetchW is the assignment of data into the cache for quicker retrieval. PrefetchW is similar to PrefetchCHh used by Intel processors. To install or upgrade to some x64 variants of Windows 8.1, a computer must have a processor that supports PrefetchW.
