Print buffer

A print buffer is a location in memory that holds data to be sent to a printer. This storage area is useful when there are multiple print jobs or a device is awaiting a response from a printer. Essentially, print buffers allow users to keep working on other tasks while waiting on a printout.

Print buffers generally utilize RAM (random-access memory) to store their queued print jobs and sort their work using the FIFO (first in, first out) method.
