Print server
Updated: 05/01/2023 by Computer Hope
A computer or standalone device that is responsible for managing one or more printers on a network is known as a print server. The reason these devices are used is that sometimes jobs are sent to a printer faster than it can produce them, requiring a place to queue. As printing isn't a data or CPU-intensive task, a print server does not need exceptionally fast or powerful hardware. The picture shows a wireless standalone print server from Cisco.
