Short for programming in logic or programation et logique (French), prolog is a programming language developed by Alain Colmeraur and his colleagues at the University of Marseilles in 1972. Prolog is commonly used for AI (artificial intelligence), and unlike other programming languages, Prolog is based on a set of rules instead of instructions.
