RCS

Updated: 10/17/2017 by Computer Hope

Short for Revision Control System, RCS is a software solution developed in 1982 that helps manage multiple revisions of a file. Although still used today, RCS was largely superseded by CVS (Concurrent Version System), and source code management software, such as Subversion, Mercurial, and Git.
