Read Mode
Read Mode may refer to any of the following:
1. In a word processor, like Microsoft Word, Read Mode is an instance that lets you view the document as if it were a book.
How to enter Read Mode
Microsoft Word 365
Open the document you want to read in Microsoft Word. In the Ribbon, click View and select Read Mode.
Earlier versions of Microsoft Word don't include an explicit Read Mode, but do have similar features. In Microsoft Word 2010, click Show Two Pages. In Microsoft Word 2007 and earlier, click Full Screen Reading.
Google Docs
Open the document you want to read in Google Docs. Click View, Mode, and select Viewing.
How to get out of Read Mode
In Office 365, while in Read Mode, click View and Edit Document to get out of Read Mode.
In all other office products, change your view mode back to the edit mode.
2. With browsers, like Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari, Reader Mode, Reader View, or Immersive Reader are view modes that make reading a web page more enjoyable by removing distractions. Most browsers allow users to enter this mode by clicking the book or newspaper icon in the address bar.
Firefox and Edge users can quickly enter and exit reader mode by pressing the F9 key.
