Readout

Readout may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, readout is the overall layout of data on paper (hardcopy) or in electronic form. For example, after a computer processes data, it's placed on the screen as a readout.

2. When describing the data retrieval, readout describes reading data from a storage device.

3. With a hardware device, a DRO (Digital ReadOut) is a physical device that processes data or input and displays the results or output digitally, often a few digits. For example, when stepping on a scale to determine your weight, it's displayed as a digital readout.
