Record
A record may refer to any of the following:
1. A record is a collection of related data in one or more files or a database. For example, your computer manufacturer may have a record of you or your computer; this record may contain the history of your computer(s). Another example is a hospital or clinic with a medical record for you or a family member.
2. An LP is a 12-inch vinyl disc used in record players. See our LP (long play) definition for additional information.
3. Sometimes abbreviated as Rec, record, or recording is a function that records audio from a microphone or another source. For example, someone may record an MP3 to a CD (compact disc) so they can listen to it when away from their computer.
