Regenerative repeater

The regenerative repeater is an invention created at Bell Laboratories in the 1950s which receives, reshapes, retimes, and retransmits analog pulses. The device, based on the groundbreaking work of Claude Shannon, provided the first reliable method of lossless digital communication.
