Region

Region may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, a region describes an area of a country or world divided by other parts. For example, the United States is broken up into regions. California is in the West region, and New York is in the Northeast region.

Note

A region may also be called a zone.

2. With an online game, region describes where a game server is located. For example, a game may have American, Asian, and European regions. If you're in America, you'll want to play on the Americas region servers to get the best experience. Playing in your region gives you the fastest connection and lets you play with people who speak your language.

Players cannot play with those connected to another region. In other words, Americas region players cannot play with Asia-based players. If you're in America and want to play with players from Asia, you can choose their region, but realize your game connection will be slower.

3. In Windows, Region refers to a settings collection that changes how the date and time are formatted, the first day of the week, and other options. It is used to match the geographic region's standards. Below is an example of how the Region window appears in Windows 11.
