Round
Round may refer to any of the following:
1. When describing a shape, round describes any object that is circular, spherical, or cylindrical in shape.
2. With mathematics, round or rounding is reducing the decimal places in a number. Rounding a number makes it simpler to work with as there are fewer digits.
When rounding, the rule is any value less than five is rounded down, and any value greater than or equal to five is rounded up. For example, rounding pi (3.1415926535...) to its nearest whole number would be "3" as "1" is closer to "3" than "4." Rounding pi to four decimal places would be "3.1416" as "9," which is in the fifth position, is greater than five.
3. In Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets, ROUND is a function that shortens a quantity to the specified decimal places. For example, if the number 4.7369 is in cell A2, the following formula rounds that number to 4.74. If the number is 4.7614, it rounds to 4.76.
=ROUND(A2,2)
