Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser and cross-platform plugin for delivering .NET based media and rich application experiences to users on the Internet, released on September 5, 2007. Like an Adobe Flash file, Microsoft Silverlight files are stored in a compressed XAP (pronounced like zap) file. You only need to install Silverlight if a website you visit requires the plug-in.

Microsoft ended support for Silverlight on October 12, 2021.
