Alternatively called a floppy-net, shoenet, tennisNet, and walknet. The term sneakernet describes transferring data through physical means, such as copying files to a disc, disk, flash drive, or drive and physically walking them to another computer.

Example of using a sneakernet

A computer is having difficulty installing a network card because of missing drivers. Because the computer cannot to the Internet, it cannot download the drivers. However, you could use another computer to download the drivers, copy those drivers to a USB (universal serial bus) thumb drive, and sneakernet them to the computer having the problem.
