Span

Span may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, span is how far something can extend from one end to another. For example, a server rack may span 35 feet across a glass house.

2. Regarding HTML (hypertext markup language), see our <span tag> page for more information about this tag.

3. When describing the distance in a spreadsheet or multiple cells, rows, or columns, a span is called a range.
