Split

Split may refer to any of the following:
1. Taking one whole object into two or more sections. For example, splitting one fullscreen window into half of the screen so other windows can be shown at once, like shown below.
2. Split is taking a segment of data and dividing the data into two or more portions.
3. With a chat server, a split separates one or more chat servers.
4. With programming split is a function in many languages to help divide data. For example, you could split a sentence by the spaces to get a word count of the sentence. See our word count definition for further information and an example.
5. Shred is the name of a transition.
