SSE
SSE may refer to any of the following:
1. Short for Simple Sharing Extension, SSE is an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) extension from Microsoft that takes sharing information from unidirectional to bidirectional. For example, when using a calendar that utilizes SSE and you updated calendar appointments, anyone subscribed to that SSE would also have their calendar updated.
2. Short for Streaming SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) Extensions, SSE, originally known as ISSE (Internet Streaming SIMD Extensions), are instructions for multimedia programs first used on the Pentium III. For example, with an SSE processor, the computer can perform MPEG2 decoding without needing a decoder card. MPEG2 is a scheme for playing DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) video discs. SSE was expanded upon with SSE2, which was introduced with the Pentium 4, SSE3, and SSSE3.
