Status line

A status line may refer to any of the following:
1. In general, a status line describes the current state of a person, object or computer program. For example, on Facebook the status line could be a description of how a person is feeling. On a computer, the HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) error code 404 has a status line message of "Not Found" as the reason for the error.
2. Status line is sometimes used for the Windows status bar.
3. In VIM, the status line displays information about the line presently being edited at the bottom of the window.
