Temp directory

A temp directory or temporary folder is a directory on a storage medium, such as on a hard drive, that stores temporary files. Commonly, this directory is named TEMP and may contain files ending with .tmp.
Tip
To clean the temp files from your Microsoft Windows temporary directory (C:\Windows\Temp), use the Windows Disk Cleanup utility.
