Terraform
Terraform is an IaC (infrastructure-as-code) software tool created by Mitchell Hashimoto and released as open source on July 28, 2014. Terraform allows users to utilize JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) or HCL (HashiCorp Configuration Language) to define how a data center cloud infrastructure is configured and help with automation. Terraform supports many associated providers, including AWS (Amazon Web Services), Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure, VMware vSphere, and more.
Today, Terraform is no longer open source and is maintained and run by HashiCorp. On August 25, 2023, OpenTF announced it would fork Terraform and release the new product OpenTofu.
