Tesla
Updated: 11/12/2023 by Computer Hope
Founded in 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, Tesla is a technology company focusing on providing clean solutions for home electricity and personal transportation. The company is famous for its electric cars, like the Model S, 3, X, and Y, and specialty vehicles like the Cybertruck, semi, and Roadster. After merging with CEO Elon Musk's other company, Solar City, Tesla also installs home solar panel systems.
Tesla is often considered more than a vehicle or solar power company because of the broader technologies it develops. The company's many projects include Autopilot, an AI that trains cars to drive autonomously, the Dojo chip that allows Autopilot to function, and several robotics projects.
